Brett Vale supports Student Food & Farming Day

One of the local farm shops, Hollow Trees Farm, joined with the Suffolk Agricultural Association to organise a 'Student Food & Farming Day' this week.  This day was aimed at secondary school age students and focused on the wide range of career opportunities within the food and farming industry. Hollow Trees Farm's vision was to use the day to fill a gap in delivering the message to older students.

Our wonderful team from Brett Vale Farming Company were of course happy to step up. They took along a combine and tractor for the participants to get up close to and learn more about what it takes to work on a farm. We're hoping some interest was piqued for the future of farming.

Thankfully the weather was good and the feedback from schools and all those involved has been really great. One of the schools immediately sent their thanks to Hollow Trees, "Thank you so much for a really fun and informative today, our Year 9 students really enjoyed learning all about the food and farming industry and the huge variety of interesting career roles within the sector. An extremely well run event, congratulations!"

Well done, Hollow Trees! It's great to see this initiative for the benefit of the future workforce.
